Grounded Gardens internships

Real-world experience in a place that feels nothing like a classroom.

These opportunities are designed for students who want to practice their craft in a working small business. Interns will learn alongside the Grounded Gardens team, contribute to day-to-day operations, and complete work that directly supports the shop.

Track 01

Barista / Café Intern

A strong fit for Inland Northwest Culinary Academy students.

Train on commercial espresso equipment and build practical experience with specialty coffee, matcha, café workflow, guest service, and maintaining a clean, efficient station.

What you may work on

  • Espresso dialing, milk texturing, and drink consistency
  • Specialty coffee, matcha, and seasonal beverage preparation
  • Café setup, service flow, sanitation, and closing routines
  • Customer experience inside a plant-filled retail environment

Track 02

Plant Care Intern

A strong fit for Greenhouse, Nursery, or Horticulture students.

Help care for a diverse retail plant collection while learning how plant health, merchandising, inventory movement, and customer education work together.

What you may work on

  • Daily watering and moisture assessment
  • Plant health checks, cleaning, and inventory rotation
  • Basic propagation, repotting, and plant-care documentation
  • Retail presentation and helping customers choose the right plant

Track 03

Marketing Intern

A strong fit for Marketing AAS, communications, or creative students.

Build a local brand through work that is intended to be published and used—not filed away as practice. The shop provides a highly visual environment and a wide range of real campaigns to support.

What you may work on

  • Social media content and short-form campaign planning
  • Email marketing, photography, and product storytelling
  • Workshop, event, and live-sale promotion
  • Basic performance reporting and local brand development
